What is Planning for Calm?

Planning for Calm is an initiative at the University of Glasgow to encourage student development of mindfulness skills.

Using a novel touchpoint approach, Planning for Calm aims to demonstrate how mindfulness skills can be integrated and applied across a range of settings across campus to help support good wellbeing.

At Planning for Calm, we view mindfulness skills as another key element in student support and advocate for its inclusion alongside familiar strategies such as academic support, physical health and psychological support.

Planning for Calm supports self-directed and independent use of mindfulness, helping to develop students who can better navigate the ups and downs of university life, who are more resilient and ready for the workplace.

Initial results from Planning for Calm have recently been presented at the 12th Annual University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching Conference.
